This week recognizes School Bus Safety Week. Sylacauga City Schools has a bus fleet that runs 15 regular routes every morning and afternoon all over town. Nearly half of our students, from PreK all the way up to high school, ride a bus. Our drivers start their mornings at the bus yard around 6:00 a.m. in all types of weather conditions and are back again by 2:00 for the afternoon run. School bus safety means more than just the maintenance of our buses. It includes the safe driving skills of our drivers and their dedication to safely transporting our students every day. Our drivers know the children on their buses by name. They care for them. And they are committed to the safety of these children. Please join us in saluting this dedicated group of people who are vital part of the Sylacauga City Schools family: Sharon Futral, Stacy Sanders. Kelley Holbrook, Gayle Salters, Christine Goodson, Lisa Hill, Mary Thompson, Veronica Holtzclaw, Nate Brewer, Ralph Booker, Andrew Thomas, John Arant, Tim Taylor, Randolph Pankiewicz, Jason Smith, Don Bozeman, Dr. Matt Hubbard, and Dale Pouge (not pictured.)
