September is Attendance Awareness month!
All four of our schools across the district have incentives going all month to encourage our students to be present and engaged in the classroom all month long.
To promote good attendance, we strive to engage students and families in positive ways, such as through open communication and having our teachers and support staff create safe and welcoming learning environments for everyone. Each of us has a role to play in making attendance a priority!
Absences add up! Missing just 2 days a month means your child has missed 10% of instructional time for the year.
We look forward to seeing all of our Aggies, All month long!

Dear Sylacauga City Schools Families:
The transportation changes for NLMS students during drop-off/pickup traffic has caused great confusion and concern the last few days. Although changes were discussed with one of our partners (Sylacauga Police Department), a final decision had not been determined at the time information was posted on social media. We apologize for the confusion and feel the need to clarify that at this time NLMS drop-off/pickup traffic will be the same as the 2023-24 school year with no changes for the 2024-25 school year. The safety and security of our students is always top priority. If changes are made in the future, we will communicate those details to all stakeholders.
Thank you for your understanding as we are preparing to have the best school year starting on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.
