Early Childhood Education

  • The Early Childhood Education Program at SHS prepares students for immediate employment in the fast-growing field of preschool education. Through the series of five courses, students work directly with young children, develop lesson plans, and learn about brain development and developmental theory. This program prepares students for the Preschool Child Development Associate Credential, a nationally-recognized standard in Early Childhood Education. In Alabama, this credential qualifies graduates to work as Assistant Teachers in any of the state's First Class Pre-K classrooms.
